Sometimes at work I stop and pray for you. I pray for you more than I pray for myself. I watch you sleep amazed at how God can make something so beautiful in His image. I worry for you, even at 5 years old. I pray God protects your heart. I pray you don't hate me for your father. I pray you never lose your sense to always want to know the truth, even when it kills me to tell you. Before God was in the picture, I made this picture seem real happy. Get the picture? Nobody is really happy without God in the picture. Always remember that. I see my free spirit in you. Attitude. Sass. Walk. Talk. What I see most is your courage. At 5 years old. Oh how God can use your voice. Your raspy high pitched voice echoing for the glory of Jesus! I pray for that vision because I see it.
I thank God for women like "G.G" The real supermoms! She does it so effortlessly. Wakes up and knows what to do, how to fix things, what to make and how to make it. I pray I am more like her. She prays I'm better than her and I pray you're better than me.
"Fathers be good to your daughters, daughters will love like you do...."
I pray you love like your papa! That man has a heart of gold. For you he will leave LA to Hawaii for 3 years, just to come right back. Thats love, time and money. I pray you never feel fatherless. That in God you find that He is the Father to the fatherless and in Him you're never less. I pray I make you proud. That I stand in the gap for your father's absence. That you never question, "Who am I without my father?" But more of "Look at what I've become because of my Heavenly Father!"
Baby the world might break your heart. They might make you cry.
1 John 4:4 says "You dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world..."
Baby, the world is an ugly place. But God is faithful. With Him you cannot lose. Never give up. You were created for this time. Moment. Purpose. Not because of where you come from. Or who your parents are. Or how you were raised. But rather because your Heavenly Father has created you for this.
By the time you read this letter, you will be old enough to understand how deep my love for you goes. How I ever started motherhood without Jesus, I couldn't know. How God seen me fit enough to be your mother, I'll never know. Stand strong in who you are. Be devoted to the House of God. Be passionate, but wise. Be bold, but humble. Be kind, but stern. But most of all be YOU! You are a product of the most High. You are the product of God, that has crowned you with the highest prize. I give you my shoulders to stand on and see beyond what I could never see. Reach beyond what I could never be.
You have inspired me.
To be better.
Get too know God more.
Every year today, I love you more.
With every age, I embrace you more.
And with every second, I cherish you more.
My sweet island girl.
